Only 30 km from Dar es Salaam, a half hour drive after crossing the ferry, takes you to a special secluded paradise called Ras Kiroko (Fisheagle Bluff). Hidden in the lush indigenous bush, on top of a magnificent cliff, with stunning sea views is "The Bean".

The Bean is a 3 bedroom self-catering private house. The 3 large bedrooms (sleeps 4, 2 and 2), are all en suite, one with bath and shower, the other two with showers only. Eight people sleep very, very comfortably.

The Bean has a fridge, freezer, deep freezer, gas cooker/oven, toaster, microwave, kettle, and 2 barbeques outside. One gas and one charcoal/wood (supplied by us). We provide crockery, glasses, cutlery, pots and pans, all linen and bath towels. Please bring your own beach towels and torches if you like night walks. With prior arrangement it is possible to dine at one of the nearby hotels (Ras Kutani, Amani Beach and Ras Kenyegwa).

The big open-planned kitchen/dining/lounge area makes it the ideal place for a social atmosphere. The large shady verandah with a hammock is the perfect place to have an afternoon nap. A path through the indigenous vegetation takes you down to your own private white sandy beach where you can swim, fish or walk for kilometers undisturbed... or you can just be lazy and do nothing in total privacy!! The Bean is fully equipped for family and children. It is absolute paradise for everyone!

Ask us if any turtles are ready to hatch as the Green Turtle regularly lay their eggs on the beaches in this area. Humpback whales travel close inshore between the months of May to October. Bring your binoculars bird watches as you are virtually guaranteed to see fish eagles and palmnut vultures fly right past your nose. Many other birds inhabit the local bushlands.

Full moons are a special treat as the moon rises directly in front of The Bean. New moon is just as amazing as all the stars are very clear with no lights nearby to take away their brilliance. Two outdoor mattresses are provided to lay on and look up to the heavens.

Foot paths are maintained through the thick indigenous bush for those who enjoy nature walks. Wildlife abounds and you will definitely meet the troop of sykes monkeys who live very close by. One kilometer away is another large plot of land that also belongs to Ras Kiroko with a magnificent walk through a forested river valley. There is even a troop of black and white colobus monkeys. You are welcome to bring mountain bikes as the area is perfect for this sport. The Horse Club is close by with over 35 horses to choose from. Galloping along the beaches is an unforgettable experience.

Ras Kiroko has a large orchard and when the tropical fruits are in season you are invited to pick from the trees. When our chickens have been laying well you will be provided with complimentary fresh eggs.

A grassed airstrip is right behind the property and with prior arrangements can be used by guests.

So... what are you waiting for? Bring your own food and drinks and come and relax in paradise while the sea splashes below you and the fish eagles soar above!
